Millhopper Branch Library Construction in Final Phase
December 29, 2009Construction on the Millhopper Branch Library will be completed next week and the building is expected to be ready for its big reveal and re-opening the last week of February 2010.
The newly renovated library includes a quiet reading room, expanded children area, playground, snuggle up center, teen space, 2 meeting rooms, and a specific area for recently checked out “popular titles” for those who want to browse and go.
The renovation also included a re-design of the parking lot to allow for additional parking, bicycle racks available in the front of the building, and an additional space for future food service at the library.
Dates for the closing of the temporary site have not yet been determined, but the Library District hopes the library will not be closed for more than 2 weeks prior to the re-opening of the renovated location.
Additional details about upcoming closings and the finalized date of the Grand Opening will be provided in mid-January.
